Digital transformation

At UNICEF, I led global digital transformation projects to fundamentally change the way 22,000-plus employees collaborate, engage, and access HR information and resources. This included the launch of key platforms such as a new global HR intranet site and digital ecosystem, a new UNICEF Careers external website, and revamped digital communities.

Digital transformation for UNICEF’s Division of People and Culture

I managed the Division of People and Culture’s (DPC, formerly the Division of Human Resources) digital transformation under the UNICEF-wide Enterprise Content Management Project. The aim of the project was to fundamentally change the way staff create, share, and find information, collaborate with each other, and access the tools they need to get their work done.

Key milestones in the project included moving staff and teams to cloud-based document management systems, developing digital platforms for team collaboration and communication, and launching a new people-centered and interactive global DPC intranet site. The project maintained a focus on capacity building and behavior change communication throughout.

As part of my project management work, I supervised a project consultant who had expertise in user experience design and capacity building, managed a core project team, oversaw a network of focal points across the division, and liaised closely with senior management, the Information and Communication Technology Division, and other key stakeholders.

Under the project, DPC gradually moved from outdated intranet platforms and unstructured ways of storing documents to a policy-compliant digital working environment. In this environment, staff gained access to mobile-friendly cloud-based tools and systems that enabled better collaboration and communication across UNICEF. Following its launch, the global HR intranet continued to consistently rank among the two most visited and engaging digital platforms at UNICEF.

UNICEF Careers website

I co-led the development, launch, and promotion of a new UNICEF Careers external website, as part of a project team and under the UNICEF-wide Digital Transformation Project. One of my key responsibilities was managing the development and compilation of all content (including written text, visuals, and multimedia content) for the launch. Following the launch, I co-managed the site as part of a small site management team. Read more about my work on the UNICEF Careers brand
