At UNICEF, I have developed and disseminated communications strategies, campaigns, newsletters, publications, online content/platforms and other diverse content covering several key diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) areas including Gender Equality, Anti-Racism and Discrimination, Disability Inclusion and Inclusion of LGBTQI+ Staff.
Gender Equality
The Economic Dividends for Gender Equality –or EDGE– Certification process includes a comprehensive review of gender equality in four areas: gender balance at all levels; gender pay gap; policies and practices to ensure equitable career opportunities for everyone; and an analysis of an organization-wide survey of staff’s experience and perceptions of gender equality in the workplace.
As part of UNICEF’s work to secure various levels of EDGE Certification, I developed communications strategies, campaigns, articles, executive messages and digital content to advocate for staff engagement and support. When UNICEF initially achieved EDGE certification – becoming the first United Nations agency to earn the leading global assessment methodology and business certification standard for gender equality. – I played a key role in drafting a press release and news article as well as scripting and and finalizing a video announcing the achievement for to staff and the public at large.
